Dover Family

A week ago yesterday I had the opportunity to shoot the Dover family. I've known them for a long time and I consider them very special friends. In fact, I met my wife at their wedding. So to say I owe them a lot is an understatement. I was excited when I got the e-mail inquiring about the date they had chosen. I knew we'd have a blast. I huge bonus was Papaw and Nana Dover would be there as well. I hadn't seen them in many years and I've always liked them a lot. I had a couple of places in mind to shoot but god ol' Mr. Murphy had something to say about that. The first place I had chosen was swarming with people having what looked to be a birthday party. So we regrouped and headed to another location. This one was teeming Prom goers. Strike two!! So once again we regrouped and drove to a third location. And the third time was a charm. We found a few really nice locations and had a great time capturing the closeness that is family. I am so thankful to the Dovers for allowing me the honor of helping them capture memories that I hope they will cherish for years to come.
I hope you all will have a great day and will come back often!

February 2010...finally able to get out and shoot!

Ok, so this post is WAY overdue. I promise to post more consistently this year starting.....NOW! The holiday season was wonderful at my house and we seem to be surviving all the snow. I am really looking forward to Spring. I enjoy the seasons and find that
I am ready for the changes when they occur. I am so over Winter though. We had a great weekend last week and the warmer temperatures made me really long for Spring. We were able to go outside and shoot some new pics in Market Square and that gave me some newfound energy. I love the warm weather. I like to get outside and play ball with my boys. I love going to the zoo with the family. I can't wait for the days to get longer. I hope you enjoy today's offering and I promise to have more new photos soon. Thanks for checking out the blog and hurry back!

Weekends!

More and more I relish the time I get to spend with my family on the weekends. Sometimes we have adventures planned and other times we run some errands and go to the pool. No matter what we do, it's always FUN! I jokingly tell my wife that had I known how much fun kids were I would've had some years ago! Well, the truth of the matter is that I had to wait until I met her to have these particular little ones that bring me so much joy. There are few things in life any better than an unexpected kiss or hug from little lips and arms. This weekend we've tentatively planned to do some new family portraits. We've been so busy that our BIG family portrait in the living room still hasn't been updated with little brother! He doesn't know it but it bothers my wife and I. So...hopefully a new update this weekend with new pics of the family! Until next time, keep you feet in the clouds, your head on your shoulders, and enjoy the ride!

Boys and Girls

So we went to the pool today. It's always an adventure with Eli and Alex. Eli is my well-mannered, well-behaved first born. He prefers playing with others but is quite content playing by himself. Alex, on the other hand, while very sweet, loving, and well-mannered..... Well, let's just say he likes to get into things. Today, while at the pool, Alex found some tween-aged girls and made a bee-line for them. Of course they gave him all the attention he was looking for, each time he cut between them to climb out of the water..before jumping right back in! How funny it is to watch a 2 year old mack on tween-age girls!!! I think we're gonna have our hands full, but I think it's gonna be a fun ride!

Greg Ditmore Photography 1st Blog

Welcome to the first Blog entry for Greg Ditmore Photography! This is just one of the exciting changes being made to our web presence. The other change is a complete overhaul of the main website which will occur over the next month or so. I hope this is a place where feel welcome and you will follow the journey we are undertaking. I will be posting photos shortly after each shoot. I will also try to include just a bit of background on the subjects and relay any misadventures that may have taken place as well. So please check back often as this will be a place that I can update frequently. Take your shoes off, stay a while, and thank you for visiting.
